Fiji Islands

Départ d'Auckland vers Nadi, Fiji, à quelques heures d'avion au Nord de la NZ. Leaving Auckland for Nadi, Fiji, a few hours by plane at northern NZ.

Il y a beaucoup d'îles. Nadi (prononcer Nandi) est sur la principale, Viti Levu. Quite a few islands. Nadi (pronounced Nandi) is on the main one, Viti Levu.

Je ne vais rester qu'une semaine. Alors je ne vais pas pouvoir tout voir bien sûr. Je reste à Nadi le premier jour le temps de voir un peux comment je vais m'organiser. Il y a également une course internationale d'outrigger. Apparemment la première organisée ici. J'en profite pour faire deux petites plongées sur l'île de Namotu, surf spot renommé. Il s'y déroule des manches du circuit pro.
I have a week only and I won't be able to see everything off course. I stay in Nadi, spending some time sorting out my future organization. There is an international outrigger race. It's the first organized in here apparently. I also take the time for 2 dives near Namotu Island, world class surf spot, part of the pro circuit.


Puis je prends mon appareil photos et ma serviette pour aller sur les Yasawas, un archipel à l'Ouest. Je prends la navette qui fait toutes les îles. Le mieux est d'aller jusqu'au bout (plusieurs heures de bateau), de façon à avoir un premier aperçu de toutes les îles avant de s'y arrêter quelque part...
I take my camera and my towel for the Yasawas, an archipelago at the west of Nadi. I catch the flyer serving all islands. The best is to reach the top so it makes a good view of all them before stopping somewhere.

Première étape à Bay of Plenty, sur Matacawalevu. Ca paye pas de mine en y arrivant : on débarque sur une plage de mangrove... ha y'a pas de sable?? En fait non car c'est une adresse qui vient tout juste d'ouvrir. Du coup ils aménagent l'endroit et il y a plein de plantes toutes jeunes. Les fidjiens sont très accueillants comme partout, chantant à notre arrivée et avec la guitare... Mais ils ne perdent pas le sens du commerce pour autant... On y mange très bien. On a même eu droit à du homard un soir!!! Quelques plongées dans le coin aussi..
First stop in Bay of Plenty, in Matacawalevu. It doesn't look great at arriving: we unload straight to a mangrove... where's the sand beach?? Actually they opened really recently. They are working a lot on it, clearing the beach. Very welcoming, with guitars and singing... but they don't forget the business as well.... Good food. We even had lobster a night!! I also do a few dives not too far.



Comme le dorm (dortoir) était plein j'ai droit pour le même prix à une bure pour moi tout seul!!
As the dorm was full I had a bure for me only for the same price!!
